ANALYSING ROMANTIC COMEDY SOCIAL MEDIA PAGES - CONCLUSION

Having looked at three films social media pages, I've noticed that there are some conventions that are mainly used in romantic comedy social media pages to make the genre clear, however, because there are different types of romantic comedies with different plot lines, these pages do differ slightly.

Here is a list of all the conventions I have noticed in the social media pages for rom coms:

1. Bright, warm colour palettes

2. Conventional fonts

3. Hearts and flowery emojis in captions

4. Quotes

5. 'Which character are you?' posts

6. hashtags and captions referencing genre tropes

7. Pictures of the leads/love interests together

8. Names of the stars (star power is important in romantic comedies)

9. Q and A with the cast

10. Behind the scenes
