Having looked at five posters, all from different genres, I have found that these are the conventions that pop up in most film posters, regardless of the genreof the film.

4. Taglines

6. Website/social media 

7. Certificate 

8. Billing block/credits 

9. Name of director 

10. Additional images 

11. Reviews/star ratings 

12. Reference to other films (producer/director/writer)

13. Reference to awards 

14. Sound logos 

15. Reference to source material 

16. Merchandise 

17. Format 

18. Indication of genre (iconography)
